Free from: Gluten, Dairy, Soy, Artificial Colours and Preservatives. Vegan.
- Cinnamomum verum — not cassia (Cinnamomum aromaticum)
- Negligible coumarin — safe for daily long-term supplementation
- Supports healthy post-meal blood glucose balance
- Organic certified, standardised extract for consistent potency
- Synergistic with DHB — complementary, independent mechanisms
Cassia cinnamon — used in most supplements — contains high coumarin levels linked to liver toxicity at supplemental doses. Ceylon (Cinnamomum verum) contains negligible coumarin. If your current cinnamon supplement doesn't specify Cinnamomum verum, it's almost certainly cassia.
DHB activates AMPK intracellularly. Ceylon cinnamon polyphenols improve insulin receptor sensitivity and glucose transporter activity through separate receptor pathways. The two work on different parts of the same metabolic system — stacking the effect without stacking the mechanisms.
DHB vs standard berberine

What is Dihydroberberine?
Dihydroberberine (DHB) is the reduced form of berberine — a compound found in several plants including barberry (Berberis vulgaris), goldenseal, and tree turmeric. It is the direct metabolic product that gut bacteria produce from berberine via reduction. CAS number: 522-97-4.
The bioavailability problem with standard berberine has been well-documented: intestinal absorption is approximately 5%, meaning most of the dose never reaches systemic circulation. DHB bypasses this limitation — absorbed upstream in the small intestine at a far higher rate. Once inside cells, it is oxidised back to berberine, where it activates AMPK (adenosine monophosphate-activated protein kinase), the enzyme that regulates cellular energy balance, glucose uptake, lipid metabolism, and mitochondrial function.
AMPK is sometimes called the metabolic master switch — it is the same pathway activated by exercise and caloric restriction, both of which have well-established associations with metabolic health and longevity. Berberine and its derivatives are the only known oral compounds that activate AMPK with meaningful potency from standard supplemental doses.
Research context: The majority of published research on berberine and AMPK activation was conducted using standard berberine HCl. Research on DHB specifically is a newer and smaller body of work, most of it pharmacokinetic — studying absorption and conversion rather than clinical outcomes. We are transparent about this. Dihydroberberine is a metabolic support food supplement, not a pharmaceutical. The absorption advantage is well-characterised; the clinical outcome data for DHB specifically is still developing.
Stack with Vitality Supplements
Dihydroberberine works as a standalone metabolic support supplement. Many customers combine it with NAD+ precursors and other longevity compounds for a broader protocol.
