NMN is widely sold in the UK but its position is not settled: a GB novel food application for β-NMN (FSA reference RP-2116) is under assessment by the Food Standards Agency, and EFSA published a positive safety opinion in the EU in 2026 with formal authorisation still pending. What differs between formats is how NMN is delivered, how easy it is to take, how it keeps and what it costs per serving. Here is each one on its own terms.

The absorption question

What about liposomal absorption?

The selling point of liposomal NMN is absorption: the idea that wrapping NMN in a phospholipid carrier may help it through digestion. It is a formulation rationale used across many supplement ingredients — but for NMN we are not aware of a published human trial comparing liposomal NMN head to head with standard oral NMN. So it is fair to call liposomal a delivery approach marketed for absorption, not a proven upgrade.
